When sports betting online and other top sports betting sites online, you will find discussion of many topics in the sports world, and right now, one of the hottest topics is the college football bowl season. It’s here. The New Mexico Bowl starts things off on Dec. 21.
1 –Will Mike Leach Get His Team To Play Its Best?
The best online sports betting opportunities flow from an awareness of the ways in which certain coaches get their teams to perform. Mike Leach has certainly been able to squeeze a lot more production out of Washington State this season. After settling into the job, Leach – at the end of his second season – seems to be gaining a foothold in Pullman, Wash., with the Cougar program. Washington State isn’t about to threaten the top teams in the Pac-12, but it has become good enough that it can pick off a team in the middle of the conference and make its way to a bowl game. Leach is going to command center stage in the week leading up to this game and in the game itself. He’s likely to take a lot of chances, as he normally does, and so the key will be if his players are just happy to be in a bowl game or if they’re going to be focused on the task at hand. Leach’s most important work before this game will not be on the chalkboard, but in the department of psychology. If Leach gets his players to focus on the task at hand, Washington State should be in good shape against Colorado State.
2 – Jim McElwain’s Lessons Learned At Alabama – Will They Matter Here?
These two offenses are both prolific, so in that sense, this might not be the kind of game in which two different kinds of teams are playing each other. Yet, Colorado State head coach Jim McElwain did serve under Alabama head coach Nick Saban. He was the team’s offensive coordinator from 2008 through 2011, winning two national championships in the process. McElwain knows about the importance of keeping the ball away from a quality offense such as Washington State’s. He knows how to develop a ball-control formula that can give his Colorado State team a better chance of winning. Alabama’s adherence to a very traditional and straightforward style of football is something that could really come in handy against a more modernized kind of approach such as the one featured by Leach at Washington State.
3 – Midday Kickoff – Which Bodies And Minds Will Be Sharper
This is a noon local time kickoff in Albuquerque, N.M., which could very well mean that one team will be sleepy while the other one will be dialed in. It’s true that Arizona came back in the fourth quarter to win after it snoozed in the first half against Nevada in last year’s New Mexico Bowl, but the chances are that the team that busts out to an early lead (if it can manage to do so) will probably win.
